North Island Métis

Mamawi:

Mamawi is pronounced ma-ma-weyh, with emphasis on the last syllable. It is a Michif word that means ‘together'.

If you would like to participate and can't make it in person, please come by the NIMA office during our regular open hours for your supplies and the zoom link information. We are located at the Robron Center, Room A124, Tuesday - Thursday 9:30am to 1:30pm.
This group welcomes all Métis women, girls and 2SLGBTQQIA+ individuals. Join us monthly to learn a new cultural activity, such as tufting, beadwork, embroidery or fish scale art.  Mamawi meets once a month, from 1:00pm-3:00pm, at Robron in the conference room. If you wish to attend but need childcare, let us know ASAP and we can arrange for childcare for this time.

If you have a cultural activity that you would like to share, please reach out!
